This is a museum of natural history that boasts collections catered to every member of the family. With its “Giants of the Mesozoic” dinosaur exhibit and a wonderful “Walk Through Time in Georgia,” the Fernbank is full of cultural treasures.
The High Museum of Art is the largest museum for visual art in the Southeastern United States. Their collections range from Monet to Tournier to Tiepolo, along with many traveling installations. They also host a wide array of events—our favorite being Friday Night Jazz events held on the 3rd Friday of each month.
Perhaps not for every occasion, but Amazon is a great option if you’re looking for variety and prefer to avoid shopping in-person.
Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift for a friend, sprucing up your garden, shopping for home decor, or simply in need of a little floral pick-me-up—Boxwood Gardens has it all! Their spring collection has just arrived, and we can’t wait to pay a visit.
This state park is home to some of the most stunning trails across Atlanta and offers a variety of lodging from campsites to modern cabins. However, you won’t want to miss Georgia’s tallest waterfall measuring at an impressive 729 feet high.
With over a dozen trails along the Chattahoochee River, we can’t pick just one! So make sure to visit the Chattahoochee River National Recreation area and add a few of these hikes to your summer bucket list.
A budget-friendly floral option that also requires little planning. From Valentine’s roses to special arrangements, Atlanta’s Costco always has fresh flowers on display and the quality (like all of Costco’s items) is top-notch.

If you want variety, you’ve got it at this place! Named the “Best Variety Store” by Atlanta Magazine for more than 20 years, Richard’s Variety Store carries anything from birthday cards to novelty items to so much more. However, their card selection is the true treasure in this store.
Located within the Cathedral of St. Philip, this shop offers a wide variety of religious & secular books, music, and other gifts for all ages.
This charming bistro is home to some of the most mouth-watering French fares throughout all of Atlanta. They are known for their rich menu and Parisian-themed atmosphere—not to mention their live jazz performers. The entertainment is worth the trip alone and the food is fantastic!
Who doesn’t love Italian for a romantic night out? La Grotta features a menu inspired by Northern Italy pasta and cultural dishes—all with a linen-table upscale environment. However, reservations are required, so make sure you check their availability before visiting.
